Sign-ups are now OPEN for our new in-person ukulele classes in Montreal, Canada!
Which ukulele course should I book for my kid?
Every child is different. Due to longer attention spans and better finger dexterity, we usually suggest starting formal ukulele lessons between ages 5-10, but we've had success with younger students! After a trial lesson, we'll customize recommendations for your child's goals and expectations.
What timezone(s) do you teach in?
Apart from our self-study ukulele course, all live online lessons may happen between 10am-10pm Eastern Time as we are operating from Montreal, Canada. We welcome students globally, as long as we are able to find a time that works for everyone involved!
How long are the lessons?
Our online music lessons are typically 45 minutes long for optimal learning time. However, all classes range between 20-60mins depending on the students and class type.
How do I make sure my online music lessons run smoothly?
We conduct our lessons at RockOutLoud.live platform (Click here for the setup reference guide).
For a smooth lesson, please prepare ahead of time before the start of every lesson:
Computer with webcam (recommended for the best experience)/Mobile device with a front-facing camera
Headphones/Earphones
Separate Microphone (optional but recommended)
A quiet space with a stable internet connection
Open up lesson files and materials (if applicable)
Tuned instruments (if applicable)
Water
An open mind!
Do I need to buy an instrument for the trial lesson/consultation?
You won't need to bring an ukulele to the trial lesson, but you'll definitely want to have one ready before your first scheduled lesson.
We are happy to help you choose an ukulele that fits your budget and style. Just let us know! 😊
If you are residing in Montreal, we have ukuleles available for rent.

How often should I take lessons?
For steady long-term progress, the recommendation is once a week for a minimum period of 10 weeks! However, depending on your goals, it is possible to arrange for lessons more or less frequently.
What happens if I miss a lesson?
Solo Classes:
These classes are flexible! With advanced notice, you can reschedule a lesson for up to two weeks in advance. Taking at least one lesson per week helps maintain momentum and progress!
We require at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule a solo lesson, except in cases of illness occurring on the day of the lesson. If we don't receive notice at least 3 hours in advance for morning lessons or 5 hours for afternoon/evening lessons, the lesson will be considered used.
Group Classes:
Group classes will continue as scheduled if a student misses a session. Unfortunately, there won't be additional make-up lessons for individual absences. However, homework will be provided to help you stay on track with the rest of the group.
In the event your teacher is unable to make a lesson:
A make-up class will be scheduled. If your teacher needs to be away for more than 2 weeks, a guest teacher may be arranged to ensure lessons continue uninterrupted.
Long-term students:
Please notify us at least 2 weeks ahead of time if you need a break from lessons due to exams, work, travel, etc. This allows us to keep your class time slot and arrange any make-up classes before the break.
